GENERAL: Major-General Wheeler directs me, in reply to your dispatch of 10 p. m., to say that he finds the enemy have moved on through the town of Fayetteville and on the Newnan road; the he will press on rapidly on this road in pursuit of them, and desires you, as you suggested, to gain their front on the upper Fayetteville and Newnan road. He cannot hear of Harrison’s brigade. Respectfully, your obedient servant,
